I've been using 'we' in our marketing since I started this firm in March 2018. The truth is, as you can see from this website, it's been a 'one man and his dog' affair so far.

The 'we' in our tagline was always designed as a bit of futureproofing for the firm - I always knew the firm would need additional talent to take it to the next level. Initially, I thought this might take 3 years. But hey ho - here we are, 10 months in and the time has come where additional help is needed!

The remit

For me, freeing up a client's time, enabling them to do more of the things that matter to them, is hugely rewarding.

Of course, to do this, we help the clients find angles to ensure they have some extra pennies with which they can enjoy that free time. Whether that happens by finding tax savings, or by digging down into the numbers, and helping them find ways to boost the bottom line - it all results in the same thing; happier clients, making steps towards a better work/life balance.

Achieving this outcome utilises many different skills - and this is where you come in.

Within this role, you'll be able to work from home, on the road, or really wherever you want!

The proposal

As I say in the vid, the traditional office is changing.

Within this role, you'll get remote access to everything, meaning you'll be able to work from home, on the road, or really wherever you want! All that's certain is that you won't be required to turn up to an office 9-5. Where you're based in the world doesn't matter - we can check in online or over the phone whenever it's needed.

If you're a night owl, you can work through the night and sleep all day.

You will also be able to work at any time of the day that suits you. If you're a night owl, you can work through the night and sleep all day. The only wee request we have is that clients are only contacted during their working hours - their free time is their free time. Mutual respect is only courtesy.

Initially it is not expected that the job will be full time, so if you want to pick up work elsewhere (or already have another part time job), have other commitments - like children or you're studying - we're more than happy to accommodate that.

Going forward, as we grow, you will be able to pick up more work - or if you've already had your fill, we can look to recruit an additional person, and you can just keep the workload you're happy with.

Existing business-related skills are important for this role. We'd love to take on a trainee in the future, but for the moment we need someone who has some prior relevant experience. This could be in bookkeeping, admin work, accounts prep, tax return prep, tax planning, the list goes on. Basically, the more skills the merrier, but there is no minimum. Understandably, remuneration for the role will be dependent on experience.

Have a look at the services we provide, and consider where your skills fit into those areas.

if you're the right person, we'll be able to make it work!

The technical stuff

Many of our clients use Quickbooks and Xero and to a lesser extent Sage, so some prior knowledge of those products would be awesome. Don't worry if you're a bit rusty on them, there's a tonne of helpful vids from all of those providers over on YouTube.

We also use Wolters Kluwer's CCH software for accounting and tax preparation. Previous knowledge of that would also be excellent, but it isn't necessary - if you're the right person, we'll be able to make it work either way!

"I'm ready to apply!"

no later than midnight on Friday 15th February 2019.

If the above info sounds like it might work for you, and you want to bring your skills to the party, you should:

  1. Polish up your CV - let's see that prior experience
  2. Draft up a cover letter (or a 'cover video' shot on your phone - 30 seconds will be more than enough) - give us a wee insight why this role is right for you
  3. Email both of the above things to calvin@crcaccountancy.co.uk

All of the above should be done no later than midnight on Friday 15th February 2019.

For any videos which are too large to email, WeTransfer is a great, free file-sharing system which you can use to email a link of the vid to us.

Summary

I'm really excited that we've reached a stage where additional folk are needed in the firm. It means we'll be able to offer even more clients the chance to take control of their work/life balances, and hopefully offer you that in the process!

Of course, if you have any questions before applying, please feel free to contact us or email calvin@crcaccountancy.co.uk.

Good luck!
